I (Kirstin) tend towards the ‘sweet treat’ end of the bring-a-snack spectrum. When I hear, “bring an appetizer or dessert to share,” we almost always end up in the dessert category. However, last night I had a hankering for something savory and stumbled across Jordi’s green chile cheeseball recipe in my files. Yummy. Goodness. Such yummy goodness, in fact, that I thought I’d share the recipe with y’all. If you’re needing something delicious and easy to take to a get-together this summer, make this. You won’t regret it.
Green Chile Cheeseball
Ingredients
8 oz. block cream cheese
8 oz. cheddar cheese, shredded
1 small can green chiles (roughly 1/3 cup)
1/4 cup green onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic
1 tbs ranch dressing mix
1 tsp taco seasoning
1/2 cup crushed pecans
Directions
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl. Using your hands, form into a ball shape (this part will be a bit messy), place in a bowl and refridgerate to let it set. 15-20 minutes. Place crushed pecan on a flat surface (like a cookie sheet) and roll the ball in pecans until covered.
Put the ball on a cheeseboard and serve with crackers! Delicious!
jord- i don't think i have ever tired this before! yummy!
ooooh, thanks for the recipe! Sounds really tasty!
I can’t wait to put this ball to the test. I adore green chiles so it will have to be a win win situation. Thank you so very much for sharing.
