I’m sure you’ve seen fabulous projects from Katie Lewis’ new book, Simple Sewing, popping up everywhere lately. And today is our turn on the book tour; we’re so excited to share our project, DIY hand warmers.
But first, let me tell you a little about this book. I’ve mentioned before that I didn’t own a sewing machine until after Burke was born, and that I often sew with the sewing machine manual in my lap and YouTube at the ready on my sewing table (the learn-as-you-sew method- you’ve heard of that, right?). Y’all, I wish I would’ve had a resource like this book five years ago!
Not only are the projects simple and do-able, the step by step picture instructions keep you from getting untangled along the way.
I made hand warmers (my mama always has cold hands, so I’m going to pair them with these cozy gloves from H&M) and can’t wait to whip up several other pairs for teacher gifts.
I would say put this book on your Christmas wish list, but honestly, there are so many great projects in here that you could make and GIVE that it might make sense to pick up a copy before then.
Be sure to check out Simple Sewing projects at Smashed Peas and Carrots and Ruffles and Stuff today as well!
Giving my daughter a sewing machine for xmas this wouls go nicely with it. Please and thank you
What a great idea, Diane. This book would make a GREAT gift for someone learning to sew- fingers crossed for you.
