In Texas, our go-to neighbor and coworker Christmas gift was edible gourmet cookie dough. SO YUMMY (and so easy).
Recently, the kids and I were talking about all-time edible gifts and this cookie dough came up. Conveniently, a couple friends had upcoming birthdays, so we had a chance to make a batch.
This time we added sprinkles to make the cookie dough extra birthday-ish!
EDIBLE BIRTHDAY COOKIE DOUGH RECIPE
Ingredients
3 1/2 cups flour (heat for a couple of minutes in the microwave before using to eliminate ecoli risk)
3/4 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 tablespoon salt
1 cup melted butter
1 Tbsp Mexican vanilla (or use vanilla extract)
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
1/3 cups whole milk
2 T rainbow sprinkles
DIRECTIONS
Stir together dry ingredients, add melted butter and vanilla, stir in chocolate chips and then add milk. Add the sprinkles at the very end, stirring gently to incorporate. Each batch makes 8 or 9 half pint (8 oz) jars.
