DIY grill rubs (with free printable spice packets)

These DIY grill rubs are the perfect present to mix up for Father’s Day (or any other guy-gifting occasion).
I might’ve mentioned once or twice that Adam is not the *easiest* person to buy/make presents for. But years ago, I made DIY grill rubs from some spice mix recipes here on the blog and they were a huge hit, so I thought it was time to try it again!
I couldn’t find any jars or containers that were the right size for grill rubs (and no amazon prime here in New Zealand- BUMMER!), so I made these spice packets instead.
I printed out each of the grill rub descriptions onto kraft wrapping paper and then assembled the packets with hot glue (leaving the top edge open, obviously). Then I portioned out the spice mixes into clear cellophane bags and tucked them into each packet.
Since it seems I’m not the only person with a hard-to-buy-for spouse (or dad! or brother! or boyfriend!), I thought I’d share the printable grill rub packets on here. I used a couple of the grill rub mixes from this post, and a couple old favorites.
There are printables that say “smoky honey habanero,” “black and bleu mix,” “sweet heat rub,” and “mediteranean mix,” (as pictured). There are also blank copies of each packet included so that you can customize the printables to your favorite grill rub recipes. There’s also space on the back to cirlce the level of heat (mild, medium or hot).
I can’t wait for Adam to open these! And am so excited to get to benefit from the grilling-goodness to come from these spice mixes! Happy guy-gifting, friends!
More Father’s Day ideas:
I ended up tucking these grill rubs in a Father’s Day Gift Basket. That post includes ideas for both storebought and DIY gifts for guys!
This Father’s Day gift ideas post was assembled with the help of Adam, my dad, my brother and my brother-in-laws. It is GOLD.
