easiest ever DIY (and not-so-DIY) marvel costumes -

Last year’s Marvel group costume (which included my family, my sister’s family, my parents, and our best friends) was one of my favorite group costumes to date. Our small family dressed up as Hawkeye, Black Widow, Captain America, Yelena Belova and Ironman. Our larger group included Bro Thor (crowd fave), Loki, Frigga (Thor’s mom), Odin, Nebula, Gamora, Scarlett Witch, Drax, Mantis, Groot, Bucky, and Falcon.

It’s taken quite a few Octobers (like 10- haha), but we have finally settled into a super predictable, super workable, pretty awesome family Halloween rhythm.

It is heavy on the group costume, super light on the scary, medium on the DIY. I’d call most of our costumes ‘semi-handmade’ (though some of them are entirely assembled by Amazon and thrift store finds!). Since last year’s Marvel costumes were easy (and SO FUN to put together!), I thought I’d share the sources of all of those. (And can’t wait to share this year’s gems- the theme is awesome!)

Costume elements to buy and make-

Motorcycle jacket or vest

Black shirt or tunic

Black jeans or faux leather leggings

Black booties or combat boots

Red wig or red hair spray

DIY bullet bracelets (using a plastic ammo belt spray painted black and elastic for the bracelets)

DIY Black Widow belt (I used cardstock instead of foam)
