gift basket idea- gourmet pasta night

As we inch towards Christmas and the season of so much gifting, I thought I’d share a whole series of gift basket ideas (though- confession- a few of these have already been given as not-Christmas presents).

First up- this Taste of Italy gift ‘basket’ (I use basket loosely, since, of course, this one is in a mixing bowl). Some of our friends went to Italy this summer, so I’ve been collecting special pasta-night gifts for them like fancy olive oil, fun striped pasta, yummy aged salami and bruschetta topping. After adding a fun Christmas-y tea towel (I love the ones from Rifle Paper Co., and also have had good luck with the ticking stripe ones from Anthro) and collecting all of it into my very favorite big bowl, this was the easiest present to put together ever! 

The formula= fun pasta + gourmet olive oil + bruschetta + salami. This would also be fun with homemade pesto, or homemade gnocchi, or a jar of homemade sundried tomatoes!
