‘flower market’ for a paris themed birthday party

The trend of ‘create your own bouquet’ stations and flower bars at parties and showers is one of my very favorites.
Since Piper loves it as well, we decided to incorporate a ‘french flower market’ into her Paris themed birthday party this year.
The only catch? In the southern hemisphere (aka- New Zealand, aka- where we live), it is the middle of winter and fresh flowers are not only hard to come by, they are crazy expensive right now.
Good thing I’ve had a minor obsession with paper flowers over the years, right?
(FYI- a whole roundup of paper flower tutorials, gorgeous crepe paper flowers, 10-minute paper flowers, tissue paper flowers).
For this Paris-party flower market, we modified the ten minute flower tutorial to attach to paper petals to bamboo skewers (by using the skewer as the ‘flower center,’ using a similar process to the tutorial and then making everything look nice and neat with floral tape between the paper ‘petals’ and bamboo ‘stem’).
Then we hunkered down and made a pile of tissue paper and crepe paper flowers (we used both types of paper).
After we had enough paper flowers for each guest to make a small bouquet, we set up a little cart with recycled glass jars (wrapped in floral gift wrap), added signage (and more paper flowers), put together a menu en Francias, and voila- the most perfect french flower market.
(I should note- this little flower bar was a HUGE HIT with the Paris Party guests.)
C’est magnifique!
Other Paris party goodness-
Amazing set ! It feels like a little French market 😉
Thanks- totally the goal! 😉
