3 1/2 cups flour (heat for a couple of minutes in the microwave before using to eliminate ecoli risk)

3/4 cups sugar

1 1/2 cups brown sugar

1 tablespoon salt

1 cup melted butter

1 Tbsp Mexican vanilla (or use vanilla extract)

Stir together dry ingredients, add melted butter and vanilla, stir in chocolate chips and then add milk. Each batch makes 8 or 9 half pint (8 oz) jars.

  1. I am so excited to make these! They look adorable and will make a great gift for a big group! How do you store the dough and how long can it be stored for?

    1. These are the perfect gift to make in bulk! I put the jars back in the boxes they came in and stacked them in the fridge. The dough definitely lasts for a couple weeks, though it never lasted that long. 😉 Happy gift making!
