the prettiest swan themed baby shower

I was scrolling through pictures the other day and realized that I haven’t ever put this pretty, flower-y, pink, swan themed baby shower on the blog (what!?!?!).
It was thrown together really quickly for a fellow foster mama from church who added a new baby girl to her mix rather abruptly. And looking through these pictures makes me think that I should put together a post about last minute showers and super easy dessert tables- haha!
Piper chose the theme based on decor we already had in our house- her room in Texas had a bunch of swan decor, so that became our theme.
For the decorations, we gathered the swan items from her room, I made a quick swan-printed dessert table backdrop (and swan labels for things like favors) and we made a quick run to Trader Joe’s for flowers.
We also got the use the marquee lightbox and Piper’s prettiest felt flower garland (ok, honestly, that garland is used for every party with a flower-y or girly edge… it took FOREVER to make, but it has been used so much that it was worth every minute).
It was January, so TJ’s and HEB had all these pretty pink treats for our dessert table. (Sidenote- holidays are generally are not so over-the-top here in New Zealand, so there’s no way I’d be able to put this pink dessert table together here. I miss HEB. And Trader Joe’s.)
We also commandeered Piper’s pink tea cart and turned it into a self-serve coffee bar/tea station/cocoa cart.
We set out a Keurig and coffee pods, a bunch of tea choices and Startbucks cocoa packets and to go coffee cups and guests were free to make their own hot beverage.
The finishing touches were pink fringed garlands and a vintage chalkboard (stenciled with the words “But first Coffee or tea or cocoa” using my favorite DIY calligraphy technique).
One of my very favorite parts of this baby shower was the clothes rack filled with the SWEETEST baby girl clothes. (There were also a bunch of DARLING baby girl sandals and Mary Janes and boots). The cute baby girl gifts became a part of the shower decor- such a win!
For favors, a friend made super yummy chocolate chip cookies that we tucked into origami boxes and added a little swan sticker label. Rifle Paper Co. gift wrap made a pretty runner (that gift wrap makes everything prettier! I use it over and over in parties – see proof here!).
The sweet mama texted me a list of prayers for this baby girl and her birth family- I typed up those prayers and each guest took them home as a reminder to keep this family in their prayers.
I kind of can’t believe we put this baby shower together in less than a week! Gotta love repurposing Piper’s room decor (and utilizing projects that I’d made for other parties) as well as the glory of Amazon Prime, HEB and Trader Joe’s to pull off a baby shower that doesn’t look last minute (but is).
ps- This Mimosa Bar was part of this baby shower (between this and the hot beverage station, we were heavy on drink options- haha). You know how I love a good drink station for a brunch-y baby shower (or any party).
